Real-Time Wave Mitigation for Water-Air OWC Systems via Beam Tracking

نویسندگان

چکیده

In a water-air optical wireless communication (OWC) channel, dynamic ocean waves may significantly deflect the light beam from its original direction, thus deteriorating performance. this letter, tracking system to mitigate wave-induced degradation is experimentally demonstrated. By employing on PAM6 system, maximum of 486% improvement (from 140 Mb/s 820 Mb/s) in throughput realized at 1.2-m air distance for an average wave slope changing rate 0.34 rad/s. For PAM4 signals, packet loss reduces 75% 11%, and 1.25 Gb/s achieved.

Control of Oscillating Water Column (owc) Wave Energy Plants

Wave energy composes a direct and easy way of harnessing power from the Ocean. Among the different techniques used, OWC devices stand as one of the most promising ones. NEREIDA MOWC demonstration project is a breakwater wave plant located in the Basque location of Mutriku, using Wells turbines and Doubly Fed Induction Generators (DFIGs). Since one of the main objectives when dealing with renewa...

Real-Time Resource Allocation for Tracking Systems

Automated tracking is key to many computer vision applications. However, many tracking systems struggle to perform in real-time due to the high computational cost of detecting people, especially in ultra high resolution images. We propose a new algorithm called PartiMax that greatly reduces this cost by applying the person detector only to the relevant parts of the image. PartiMax exploits info...

Tracking Real-Time Systems Requirements

One of the hard problems in maintaining real-time systems requirements is to keep track of the impact of resource usage on the applications. Often times, it is not sufficient to keep track of upper bounds since some requirements such as jitter are also sensitive to the lower bounds and the resource scheduling algorithm employed. In the case of non-preemptive scheduling, real-time requirements c...

Real-Time Tracking via On-line Boosting

Very recently tracking was approached using classification techniques such as support vector machines. The object to be tracked is discriminated by a classifier from the background. In a similar spirit we propose a novel on-line AdaBoost feature selection algorithm for tracking. The distinct advantage of our method is its capability of on-line training. This allows to adapt the classifier while...
